Matthew Yglesias talked about his book, Heads in the Sand: How the Republicans Screw Up Foreign Policy and Foreign Policy Screws Up the Democrats, published by Wiley. In his book Mr. Yglesias scrutinizes the Republican foreign policy agenda which he labels as "aggressive nationalism". Furthermore, he scorns Democrats for shying away from foreign policy and urges them to return to liberal internationalism, which he believes would return America to its role as the leader of a peace-loving and cooperative international community. Joshua Marshall, founder of the blog Talking Points Memo, also participated in the discussion. Following their remarks, the participants responded to questions from members of the audience.
