Captain Thomas Parker of the USS Kitty Hawk, aircraft carrier made his daily announcement to the approximately 5,000 onboard the ship. He concentrated on the mission of Operation Iraqi Freedom and the Kitty Hawk's role in this conflict, how the war is going and safety measures on board. After his announcements, he gave out “The Hard Charger of the Day” award to a seaman. The Kitty Hawk and its carrier battle group were in the Persian Gulf and were involved in the bombing and missile strikes on Iraq. The Kitty Hawk and its carrier battle group were one of five US aircraft carriers and battle groups sailing in the region. close
