Sen. Harkin addressed supporters in the Baltimore/Washington airport the week before the Maryland primary. After receiving the endorsement of former House member Mitchell, Sen. Harkin spoke against the “warmed over Republican” running in the Democratic primary and called for a real Democrat to run for the Democratic nomination. He spoke from a podium while surrounded by supporters. He also briefly responded to questions from reporters following his prepared remarks.
