Martin Turner interviewed William Hague, Member of Britain’s Parliament and former Leader of the Conservative Party, about his first book, William Pitt the Younger, published by Knopf, a biography of the man who in 1784 at the age of twenty-four became the youngest, and longest-serving, prime minister in the history of England.

William Hague was born in Rotherham, England in 1961. He was elected as a member of Parliament in 1989. In 1997 William Hague was elected Leader of the Conservative Party. He ran against Tony Blair the same year, and served as Leader until June 2001. He currently serves as the Member of Parliament for Richmond, Yorkshire.
