Mr. Rostker discussed new findings about the number of U.S. troops exposed to gas during the Perisan Gulf War in 1991. Mr. Bacon gave background information on the findings and said that long term health problems are not likely from brief exposure to nerve agents, but the Defense Department wants to learn more. Mr. Walpole talked about the methodology behind the study and its results. Dr. Garthwaite talked about research projects involving Persian Gulf veterans.
