Committee members heard testimony from administration officials concerning their various departments' handling of veterans' claims about Gulf War related illnesses. They testified both about how they have tried to help afflicted veterans and how both the CIA and the presidential advisory committee have investigated the possibility of chemical weapons exposure during and before the ground offensive in the Persian Gulf.
