Governor Parris Glendening (D-MD) officially opened the National Governors Association conference and talked about growth and quality of life issues. Theodore Roosevelt IV, Chairman of League of Conservation Voters and great-great grandson of President Theodore Roosevelt who founded NGA in 1908, spoke about conservation and private land management. Near the end of the meeting Governor John Engler (R-MI) spoke about a report from the Center for Best Practices on state programs. close
