Sheila Krumholz talked about both the large groups and individuals currently donating money to political campaigns and movements around the country and buying advertisements. She said she expected the 2012 election campaigns to cost about six billion dollars. She also responded to telephone calls and electronic communications.
The program concluded with a video clip of actor Sam Waterston reading from President Lincoln’s first inaugural address. It was part of a ceremony at the U.S. Capitol the previous day to mark the 150th anniversary of President Lincoln’s inauguration.
