Fouad Ajami talked about his book The Foreigner’s Gift: The Americans, the Arabs, and the Iraqis in Iraq, published by Free Press. In a discussion with Mr. Gelb, Prof. Ajami profiled the Kurdish, Shia, and Sunni leaders in Iraq and assessed their strengths. He argued that understanding the biographies and personalities of these people gives more insight into the country than any institutional analysis could. He responded to questions from members of the audience. close
