Professor Roth, who won the 2012 Nobel Prize in economics for his work on market designs, said that markets aren’t simply places where buyers and sellers exchange goods over a mutually agreed upon price, and that there are also markets that match buyers and sellers that have little to do with prices (kidney transplants, college admissions, marriages, etc.).
