Captain Joan Darrah (Retired) talked about her testimony later today in front of the House Armed Services Committee on the effectiveness of the military's "Don't ask, don't tell" policy. She responded to telephone calls and electronic mail. Vice Admiral Jack Shanahan (Retired), participating by phone, was part of a group of retired Generals and Flag Officers from different branches of the service commissioned by the Palm Center to study the effectiveness of "Don't ask, don't tell." He talked about the findings and recommendations of the study that was released July 7th.
