Commerce Undersecretary Patrick Gallagher talked about the cyber security framework of voluntary standards, best practices, and guidelines aimed at reducing cyber security risks for critical infrastructure being created under Presidential Executive Order 13636 issued earlier in the year. The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) would be releasing a draft report the next month. He said that although there was no silver-bullet to prevent all attacks, this was a cyber security framework to manage the problem and the risks.
