Christine Ockrent moderated a panel that talked about international development programs for the African Continent. Among the issues they addressed were measures to strengthen economies and security infrastructures, treating and eradicating diseases such as Malaria and AIDS, and using international tariffs on global transactions to fund economic development programs. They also talked about providing global leadership, advancing democratic institutions, and the role G-8 countries could play on the continent.
