The guests discussed the G-7 Summit and the progress in opening trade markets with Japan and throughout the world. Ambassador Mickey Kantor emphasized the importance of additional talks scheduled for later in the year designed to create jobs for the U.S. and the world. C. Fred Bergsten was optimistic that the “breakthrough” at the G-7 Summit will end the rhetoric and begin the effort to bring free trade to international markets. close
