A panel discussion was held about the future of the Republican Party in the wake of the 2008 presidential election, in which Republicans lost 20 House seats, 7 Senate seats, and the presidency. Topics included the failure to attract young voters or understand the depth of the party’s problems; addressing the issues of healthcare, renewable energy, and education; creating enthusiasm for the party at the grassroots level; and the characteristics of the next Republican National Committee Chairman. Panelists responded to audience members' questions following their remarks.
