During an event at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace participants talked about the resignation of the Georgian President Shevardznadze and transition of power, the crisis that brought about the resignation, and future prospects for the republic. Among the topics they addressed were the state of the Georgian economy, allegations of widespread corruption, and its relations with Russia and other states from the former Soviet Union. Following their remarks they answered questions from the audience. close
