It was noted that the Darfur crisis has caused as many as 400,000 deaths due to violence or disease. Topics included diplomatic advocacy, available policy options, mitigation of the vast violence, and humanitarian issues.
Senator Frist was Senate majority leader from 2003 to 2007. He now is a visiting professor at the Princeton University Wilson School of Public and International Affairs.
