The session was titled, “What Cannot Go on Forever Must Stop,” which referred to the fact that entitlement spending by the government was growing faster than the U.S. economy. Senator Nancy Kassebaum (R-KS) was chair of the Senate Labor Committee. Representative Ralph Regula (R-OH) was chair of the House Appropriations Interior Subcommittee. close
