Simon Schama talked about his book The American Future: A History (Ecco; May 19, 2009) and his documentary film of the same name. A video clip of the documentary was shown. Topics included the debates around immigration, war, religion, and race and how these themes have been echoed throughout the history of the United States. He spoke on the substantive and perceived changes in these issues through history. Professor Schama answered questions from members of the audience.
