Witnesses testified on Iran’s potential threats to the U.S. following allegations that high-ranking Iranian military officials plotted to assassinate the Saudi Arabian ambassador to the U.S. on American soil. Among the issues they addressed were imposing further sanctions, potential actions against teh Iranian regime, and international law. Treasury Undersecretary David Cohen said more needed to be done to apply pressure on Iran, not just for the plot but for the country’s defiance on other issues such as its nuclear program. close
