Secretary of State Colin Powell and other dignitaries took part in a ceremony commemorating 50 years of Japanese-American friendship. In 1951 representatives of forty-eight nations signed the San Francisco Peace Treaty. After the speeches Secretary Powell and the Japanese foreign minister signed a document commemorating the anniversary. Music was performed by the San Francisco Opera Company. close
