As part of an international conference on the freedom to write, participants talked about the dangers and importance of free expression of ideas around the world. They also shared personal experiences of their own and others' struggles against governments for free expression. Salman Rushdie participated by video connection and some of the remarks were through translators. After remarks by each panelist, there was a discussion period with the audience. close
