Carrie Hessler-Radelet in her opening statement said, “Most Americans vastly overestimate how much we actually spend on foreign assistance.” Heather Hurlburt talked about the role of foreign aid in the 2012 elections and the “aid industrial complex.” Judith Morrison focused on U.S. aid to Latin America.
