The former heads of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the Department of Health and Human Services, and Department of Agriculture spoke about the future of food production and safety in the U.S. Former FDA Commissioner Margaret Hamburg warned against the public reacting too quickly against genetically modified organisms (GMO). She said that GMOs are vital for fighting food disease and providing protection against extreme weather.
