Professor Brooks, author of Flesh and the Machine, published by Pantheon Books, chats with Scott Kirsner of The Boston Globe about the current and possible future impact of robots on our lives. Professor Brooks talks about the advances in robot technology, the different applications for human beings, and some of the ethical dilemmas facing us as the technology advances. He also talks about the depiction of robots in popular culture and compares the science fiction version to reality. Professor Brooks took questions from the audience following the discussion.
