Feds in the Classroom

Neal McCluskey talked about his book Feds in the Classroom: How Big Government Corrupts, Cripples and Compromises American Education, published by Rowman and Littlefield Publishers. In his book he presents an argument in favor of school choice. Mr. McCluskey believes parents, not the federal government, should make the important decisions regarding their children’s education. He talked about the largely forgotten history of American schooling and of federal involvement. Mr. McCluskey concluded that ceasing federal education involvement and implementing universal school choice are necessary to ensure that children get the education they need. Michael Petrilli commented on the book. He focused on the need for reducing bureaucracy and other reforms in federal policy while implementing standardized national tests to all students.
