A discussion was held on author William Faulkner who won the Nobel Prize for literature in 1949 and who also won two Pulitzer Prizes. September 29, 1997, marked the one hundredth anniversary of his birth. This forum was part of the 24th annual Faulkner and Yoknapatawpha Conference at the University of Mississippi. Panelists presented papers and then discussed Faulkner’s life and work. William Faulkner wrote several books including The Unvanquished, Absalom Absalom! and The Sound and the Fury. close
