First lady Michelle Obama discussed the challenges she faced as a working mother and the importance of employers putting their employee’s families first with Robin Roberts. She talked about having her daughter work minimum wage jobs to understand working America. In addition, she stressed the importance of putting pressures on politicians to change the public discussion.

This was the closing session of the first-ever White House Summit on Working Families was held at the Omni Shoreham Hotel by the White House Council on Women and Girls, the Labor Department Women’s Bureau, and the Center for America Progress to focus on creating a 21st century workplace that works for all Americans. close
