The 78th annual Ames Moot Court Competition is presided over by a panel of judges including 1961 Harvard Law school graduate, Justice Anthony Kennedy. The fictional case argued by teams of students in United States of America ex rel. Douglas Dale vs. Tech Corp. took place in the Harvard Moot Courtroom, Harvard University. The case was written by former U.S. Solicitor General Charles Fried and concerns the constitutionality of a 1985 amendment to the False Claims Act that is intended to encourage private citizens to sue on behalf of the U.S. government. In the case, a reporter sued a company for defrauding the government. close
