Dr. Henry Lacey is the moderator for a discussion of civil rights as they are portrayed in literature, as opposed to how they appear in reality. The panel members discussed their own involvement in, and memories of, the civil rights movement. They also talked about how it has impacted their writing and their lives. Also discussed is how the movement still affects life in the United States today and what can be learned from the lessons of the past. At the end of the discussion, they responded to questions from members of the audience.
