Following introductions by Senator McConnell and Provost Willihnganz, Senator Kennedy praised the McConnell Center and talked about famous Kentucky legislators. Other topics included civil rights for African Americans, Iraq, the global economy, math and science education, health care, and immigration issues. After his remarks Senator Kennedy sat with the provost and others in armchairs on the stage to answer audience members' questions.
