A coalition of eight government ‘watchdog’ groups announced a campaign to urge members of the House of Representatives not to weaken ethics standards and long-standing procedures. House debate begins tomorrow on the rules, and the participants talked with reporters about the impact of the proposed changes by House Republican leaders. They cited various examples of ethics violations by House members. After their presentations, the participants answered reporters' questions. close
