Panelists discussed the impact of the federal estate taxes on economic growth, especially on small businesses, as well as other arguments for reform or repeal of the tax. After remarks by Senator Kyl and Mr. Wertz, Mr. Shapiro and Mr. Beach debated the need for and impacts of the federal estate tax. Then all panelists took questions from the audience. Senator Kyl is the sponsor of S.75, which is designed to repeal the federal estate tax, and Rep. Cox has sponsored a similar bill in the House.
