Energy Secretary Ernest Moniz talked about U.S. energy policy and efforts to cut greenhouse gas emissions, including a plan released that day by the Obama administration to cut emissions from new power plants. Topics included the role of gas, coal, oil exploration, fracking and the Keystone XL Pipeline, and the possibilities for energy independence. Secretary Moniz also discussed the fifth report of the Interngovernmental Panel on Climate Change report in which scientists said they were 95 percent certain that humans were contributing to global warming. After the interview, the reporters discussed his responses with the host. close
