He also explained the main provisions of the Crime Bill including the 5-year goal of putting 100,000 new police officers on the streets; the policy of “three strikes and you’re out” for individuals who commit violent crimes repeatedly; and the pledge to funding for 30,000 more prison cells, boot camps for juvenile offenders, and increases in drug treatment. close
