Librarian of Congress James Billington talked about how President Ronald Reagan did not take credit for the end of the Cold War when Mr. Billington believes he deserved some credit. He stated that the end of the Cold War, which he believes is the most important political development of the second half of the twentieth century, has yet to have a proper historical description. He said that President Reagan created an atmosphere with the ideas of personal freedom and individual responsibility that accelerated the collapse of the Communist ideology and the Soviet system. close
