Panelists talked about end of life issues in relation to a proposal to pay physicians under Medicare to conduct advance-planning consultations with patients. Topics “final illness” costs, pain and symptom control, and health care proxies. Following their discussion they responded to questions from audience members.

This program was part of a Health Affairs Journal conference to address key issues in health care reform and to discuss facts and fictions about health care legislation.
