Former Governor Ronald Reagan made remarks in favor of the 1976 Republican ticket and platform. Governor Reagan was narrowly defeated for the nomination by President Gerald Ford. During the extended applause and demonstrations following his acceptance speech, President Ford waved former Governor Reagan down to the podium for the impromptu remarks.
