Ms. Beasley and Ms. Shulman talked about the reference book they co-edited, The Eleanor Roosevelt Encyclopedia, published by Greenwood Publishing Group. They were joined by Mr. Bon Tempo, who contributed to the book, and co-editor Mr. Beasley participated from the audience. They discussed the public life of Eleanor Roosevelt, focusing on Mrs. Roosevelt’s participation in the media as a columnist and host of numerous women-only White House press conferences, as well as the attention given her by news media. They also discussed her extensive involvement in foreign affairs and her role in politics. They took questions and comments from members of the audience at the end of their presentation. close
