Professor Guelzo talked about his book, Lincoln’s Emancipation Proclamation: The End of Slavery in America, published by Simon and Schuster. In a talk titled “I Freed Who? The Eight Lies We Cheerfully Believe about Lincoln and Emancipation” he confronted the numerous ways in which the proclamation had been buried under layers of misunderstanding and bad historical faith.
