Jeff Faux talked about his book The Global Class War: How America’s Bipartisan Elite Lost Our Future - and What It Will Take to Win It Back, published by Wiley. The book is about the increasing power of the rich around the world and the economic policies that they favor. During his talk, Mr. Faux took a critical look at the recently concluded annual meeting of World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, the bi-partisan support for the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), and the power of multinational corporations. He argued that the global economy is creating a global class system in which the world’s elites are disconnecting from the ordinary people with whom they share nothing but nationality. This leads to the elites abandoning the social contract in America and will lead to a lower standard of living in the United States. He argued that much of the world’s population is already being left behind in the new global economy. After his presentation he responded to questions from members of the audience.
