The Washington Journal focused on the Watergate scandal and how it has affected Washington, discussing how Congress, the media, the Presidency, lobbyists and campaigns operate differently - as well as laws that have been passed - as a result of Watergate. Former Representative Downey was elected in the large 1974 post-Watergate class, and former Chairman Fahrenkopf of the Republican National Committee was Nevada state GOP chair at the time of the Watergate scandal and active in national GOP politics. Both are now lobbyists in Washington. Telephone lines were opened for audience comment. close
