At a New Orleans event Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards announced that he is suspending his campaign. He spoke extensively on the issues of poverty and the need to refocus national attention on rebuilding New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina.

This event was held at the Habitat for Humanity project building at Musicians' Village in New Orleans. After his speech, former Senator Edwards performed volunteer work at the site. close
