Senator Mary Landrieu hosted a “Hope and Recovery Summit” to commemorate the second anniversary of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita and the flooding that followed. Primary and secondary education officials, as well as post-secondary leaders, spoke about the pace of recovery, the impact of the disaster and reconstruction efforts on education programs, and plans to expand and improve education as reconstruction efforts move forward. They also answered questions from the audience. close
