Katherine Weymouth, chief executive of the Washington Post, spoke with female journalists on the history of women in the news and the future role they will play in journalism, with the proliferation of blogs and website as news sources. She reacted to video clips of her grandmother, Washington Post Chairman Katharine Graham being interviewed for the Poynter Institute in 1985. Ms. Weymouth was interviewed by Karen Dunlap. She responded to questions from co-editors of the book The Edge of Change: Women in the Twenty-First-Century Press (University of Illinois Press, 2009) and from Poynter trustee Anne Hull. Then she responded to questions from members of the audience at the opening event of the “Edge of Change” Colloquium at the Poynter Institute for Media Studies. close
