Robert Egan and Kurt Pitzer talked about their book Eating with the Enemy: How I Waged Peace with North Korea from My BBQ Shack in Hackensack (St. Martin's Press, 2010). The book recounts Mr. Egan's role as an unofficial liaison between the U.S. government and the government of North Korea during periods of tension between the two countries. Mr. Egan hosted meetings with North Korean officials at his New Jersey restaurant and then passed along the information they provided to the FBI. Mr. Pitzer read sections from the book. Mr. Egan responded to questions from members of the audience. He also brought up his dentist to answer questions about treatment he gave to the North Koreans.
