At the U.S. Institute of Peace panelists talked about a recent Arab League Summit and a Saudi-sponsored peace proposal for the Middle East. Among the issues they addressed were Chairman Yasser Arafat’s offer to negotiate an immediate cease-fire, Israeli military operations in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, and the future of the peace process. Following their remarks they answered questions from the audience. close
