President Barack Obama talked about Hurricane Sandy at the National Response Coordination Center at Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) headquarters. The president spoke after meeting with members of the FEMA response team, the Department of Defense, the Department of Energy and others. He urged residents in the path of the storm to “take it very seriously,” and briefly described his phone call with governors and mayors in the affected region. FEMA Administrator Craig Fugate also spoke briefly. close
