The committee heard testimony on the reauthorization of the Federal Election Commission and on the reform of presidential campaign financing. FEC officials requested an additional $6.6 million over the next two years to investigate numerous allegations of illegal campaign financing in the recent elections. Several of the other witnesses urged members to give the FEC more funds and testified about how the recent elections demonstrate the need for campaign finance reform. close
