Former national security advisers and officials participated in a conference on U.S.-China relations during the Cold War. Mr. Zelikow gave a keynote address on the history of China relations since the formal establishment of diplomatic relations and the subsequent impact of normalized relations with China. Following his remarks former government officials spoke about building relations with china between 1969 and 1980, conducting diplomacy in the Cold War era, and their personal experiences in government. They also responded to questions from the audience. close
